Jet Wash Posters

As part of my studies at LCC, I was briefed to design a poster series as part of a visual identity promoting events on four eras of music at the V&A.

With the phrase ‘the image of music’ as a guide, I started exploring the visual language of collecting records and the pattern they produce once on a shelf. In order to convey the image of music across all four decades, I developed a system focusing on the format of the vinyl and its progressive disappearance over this period of time. Each poster is designed to represent the vinyls on a shelf as lines interfering with type. The further we go in time, the less lines or vinyls there are and the more type is revealed.
